My name is Clara , and I had the pleasure of meeting and hosting Fleur, an exchange student from Paris, France.  Both Fleur and I were learning new things every day; we both were discovering differences in culture and Fleur got to experience many new sights and concepts of America. Having Fleur come to America and stay with my family was a new experience for both of us, and I will never forget the fond memories and moments that we bonded together in her time here.

After Fleur went back to France we began to make arrangements for me to visit her over the summer. Accepting the invitation caused much excitement, for I had never been beyond the east coast of America, let alone beyond the country. The first of two weeks I spent in France was spent in Paris, where I hands on got to see and learn French history and culture. The other week I spent in the south of France near Toulon, in my host family’s country home. In the south I was able to meet and bond with Fleur’s family,and experience the different culture the south had to offer. Most people will say their first time traveling or being involved in an exchange program is an unforgettable experience, and it is, but what made mine so special was I experienced the new culture with the most unique of friendships, not just as her host sister but as her guest and friend. Fleur and I gave the gift of experiences to one another, and the friendship that has formed is that unlike any other I have had. It is a life-long friendship we have formed and will hold dearly.

My journey in Wisconsin was amazing , I learned so many things, I discover a new culture which I had to adapt , I met new people and I of course improve my English

I think that was a really big life experience which help me to grow up and to understand many things. I made me many friends and what I preferred was going to high school, to share music with the band and to talk to the students at lunch . At home it was a nice time too because my host family had a big garden many animals and when we eat supper we were talking a lot and going to school too . After school we did many things and travels so that was awesome. There I learned many things about America and Americans,  I discovered things that I never known and it was a beautiful experience that I will remember all my life.
